We add ‘-ed’ for regular verbs. There is a special past tense form for irregular verbs.
Regular verbs: enjoy – enjoyed, learn – learned, want – wanted, watch – watched,
Irregular verbs: write – wrote, eat – ate, go – went, see – seen,
We don’t change the main verb when we use the negative. Instead,we use ‘didn’t’.
She didn’t watch film.
He didn’t go to market.
I didn’t want to meet him.
You didn’t perform well in examinations.
They didn’t pay the amount.
She didn’t say even a word.
We say… We don’t say…
They went to Australia. (NOT They wented to Australia.)
They had fun! (NOT They haved fun!)
He didn’t play football. (NOT He didn’t played football.)
